Meet The Founders

Boca Abierta was founded in December of 2023 by Alex Rocha and Hana Pruzansky.

Alex Rocha was born in Esterillos Oeste, Costa Rica and raised in Jaco. Surfing on the Costa Rica national team, Alex spent many years chasing big waves in Puerto Escondido, Mexico. He then moved to California and met Hana Pruzansky. Hana was working a corporate finance job in San Diego when she fell in love with Alex, moved to Costa Rica, only to find a paradise to call home and never look back (classic). Hana, and surfer too, fell in love with Costa Rica just as much as Alex. Many people they met visiting this beautiful country would ask them “what is a cool local thing to do around here?”
